Philosophy
Core Values
Outdoor play is essential to health and well-being, not just for children but for all of us.
Children were made to learn. We trust them to follow their curiosities and respect them as capable learners.
The role of the teacher is to guide, inspire, and invite children deeper into learning.
Classes are collaborative. Teachers and children work together to wonder, investigate, experiment, and create.
Diversity enriches our world. We embrace and celebrate diversity within the natural world and our community.
Approach
At Good & Rooted, we create nature-based, cross-curricular, multi-sensory lessons that are accessible to children with a variety of needs, guide learning experiences with an inquiry-based, collaborative approach, and cultivate a playful yet supportive learning environment.
Licensing
We are not a school or a childcare center. Our classes run seasonally and are meant to be supplemental to your child’s education. We are licensed as an Organized Camp with the state of PA. We require teachers and volunteers to have current background checks, clearances, and cpr/first aid certifications.
