FAQ

  • We use an app called Brightwheel to process payments. You can pay for each 10-week session upfront or set up a monthly payment plan.

  • Collecting a supply fee at the start of each school year allows us to replenish school and art supplies, as needed.

We also offer children a variety of open-ended toys and tools to engage with (shovels, buckets, hammers, pond nets, magnifying glasses, etc). These things break with heavy use and need to be replaced frequently.

  • YES! We received a grant from the VELA Education Fund that will enable us to offer tuition assistance for a limited time.

  • Good & Rooted is owned and operated by a Christian family, but our program is not religious.

We do not require statements of faith from families. We believe that all homeschoolers should have access to classes, support, and community regardless of religious affiliation.

Good & Rooted is meant to be a safe place for children from diverse backgrounds to learn and grow alongside one another.

  • We need each family in our Homeschool Enrichment program to help clean up our outdoor classroom once/school year. This is the only volunteer commitment we require of families.

If you’re interested in being more involved here are some other ways you could help.

    -Cut and prep craft materials

    -Help plan field trips

    -Help plan special events

    -Bake treats for class parties

    -Share regularly on social media

  • We are licensed as an Organized Camp with the State of PA. We require teachers and volunteers to have current background checks, clearances, and cpr/first aid certifications.

  • Children are dropped off and picked up with their teacher at the designated meeting spot. Children are not admitted to class until they are checked in on the Brightwheel app, and must remain with their teacher until they are checked out on the Brightwheel app. This ensures that we have an accurate record of who is present at all times.

  • Yes! However, there are extremes in which safe and productive learning cannot take place (ie: threat of lightning, extreme temperatures). We use the Child Care Weather Watch chart to determine if the weather is safe/not safe for outdoor learning.

While our program takes place primarily outdoors, we do have access to an indoor space that we use as needed.

  • In the event of unsafe weather or road conditions, classes will be canceled. You will always receive a text alert, via brightwheel, to inform you of weather cancellations.

We offer up to 3 make-up classes per school year.
